Manufacturing Process: Gang Printing

Quantity Tolerance

Due to the nature of gang printing (GFX' process of placing multiple files on the same sheet), there will be times that a quantity tolerance of 5% more or 5% less is permissible. We consider this + or - tolerance to be a reasonable order fulfillment.

If you require an exact quantity, you'll need to make an additional order. For example, if you require 5000 exactly, we recommend you order 5000 plus another 100+ to ensure that you'll have the amount you need. This is strongly recommended for direct mail postcards.

Please note that rush printing services still require 48-72 business hours for printing, shipping AND delivery for most locations throughout the Contingent United States (Lower 48).

We also reserve the right to make minor modifications to the paper and coating options in an attempt to satisfy your rush printing and/or date requirement instructions.

Minor modifications may also occur for regular production orders as well. For example, quantities under 500 are occasionally digitally printed and those inks cannot withstand an additional coating. This is a very rare occurrence.

File Match & Color Match

Due to the nature of gang printing (our process of placing lots of files on a single sheet), we do not guarantee an exact color match. Also, because of gang printing, future orders of the same files may result in color shifts: we cannot guarantee a 100% color match from job-to-job.

However, when you receive your order and if you feel that the colour shift is too great*, we will ask you to take a photograph of it and send it to us for consideration. Reprints are considered on a case-by-case basis and a reprint may not solve the issue if the colors you have chosen are too far apart (use a colour wheel as a guide for color relationships and harmonies) and are next to each other, eg:  light yellow with black or dark orange with a light blue.

* Note that we cannot provide a reprint if you supplied RGB files. Because we have to convert RGB to CMYK, there are times when colors will shift greatly. For example, very bright colors will shift to dark colours: bright blue & many Pantone blues will shift to purple. If you want us to try to match your file as best we can, the color correction charge is based on an hourly rate of $85.00 (minimum of 1 hour) and we still can't guarantee that it will be an exact match.

Another issue that affects color shifts is neighbouring colous of other customer files. If color is of the utmost importance to you, we recommend that you consider a custom print job where your files are the only files being printed at one time. We do not provide this service.

Printing Prices

GFX is located in the Toronto, Canada area and you are billed and invoiced in Canadian Dollars. Please contact your own financial institution for current exchange rates if you are outside of Canada. You can also search Google for "Canadian Dollar" and a handy calculator will show up.

Canadian Dollar & Approx. US Dollar

Note that although we are located in Canada, we use a shipping company in the USA. This has a number of benefits to you as an American customer, 1) NO import or custom fees, 2) NO taxes, and 3) the low Canadian Dollar gives you an extra savings of at least 25%-30% (based on January, 2016 data).

Our web site conservatively provides a 25% discount even though the conversion is closer to 31%: this difference provides a cushion for credit card companies who charge a commission to convert Canadian Dollars to US Dollars on your statement.

Can we tell you the exact amount that will show up on your statement? Unfortunately, no -- that's up to the banks and the credit card companies. We can guarantee that our conservative conversion rate will be close to or lower than the amount on your credit card statement.

Estimates

You can find all printing and shipping prices on all product pages. We do not provide estimates or quotes over the phone or through Live Chat. We have a form you can fill out for quote requests.

Payment

Credit Cards (AmEx, Visa & MasterCard) & Paypal

All orders are prepaid by credit card through our web site via a secure socket layer and you are responsible for keeping a copy of your own receipt. We do not provide duplicate receipts/invoices. You are billed in Canadian dollars and the exchange rate, if any, is established by your financial institution, not GFX.

Sorry, but we do not open accounts or accept Purchase Orders.

PayPal Payments

As mentioned in the previous paragraph, we are located in Canada and all payments and invoicing is in Canadian Dollars plus taxes, if applicable. The exchange rate fluctuates on a daily basis and if this concerns you, please contact your financial institution for information -- we cannot tell you what will show up on your credit card statement if you are outside of Canada.

Artwork - Files and Reproduction

When sending digital files electronically, you are responsible for following our artwork guidelines. We preview all incoming files and attempt to find potential problems, but assume no responsibility should your job be printed incorrectly. We presume that the files you send are the files you want printed.

Ownership of Files

If supplying your own files, you certify that you own the rights to use the image(s) being reproduced by GFX. All materials and artwork created directly by GFX, including typesetting, layouts (both online and off-line), etc. are the property of GFX. We reserve the right to send samples of your printing unless otherwise notified in writing. We will not use your images in any national or international advertising without your prior written consent.

Cancellation Policy

You confirm supplied artwork matches the order specification and accept liability if it does not. Also, all jobs could immediately enter production, regardless of what time the order was placed, whereby it will be uncancellable or unmodifiable. You have committed to ordering custom printing and paying for it.

Guarantees & Refunds

You must notify us in writing within ten (10) business days of receiving your order that there is a problem with your product. Please take a photo of the issue and email it to your customer service representative outlining the issue(s).

Reprints are provided on a case-by-case basis. We do not provide refunds. No exceptions.

In no case is GFX liable for loss of business or implied damages.

Our turnaround time is not guaranteed unless in writing by a GFX representative.

Rush Printing and/or Rush Shipping is not guaranteed and may not necessarily be available for certain products even if you can order it and pay for it.  Please see the ? icon in the calculator for full descriptions of each product and service. Paying for overnight priority shipping has no effect on the printing/production schedule.

Shipping

We use UPS Ground for all orders destined for the USA.

Delivery times are estimated based on the information provided to GFX by the carrier and in no way is GFX responsible for delays in arrival time. GFX will provide you with a tracking number upon request and it is your responsibility to track your package and notify us of any potential problems caused by the carrier.

Please note that residential delivery is up to 8:00 p.m., even if your business is in your home. If you need your order earlier in the day, please consider upgrading the shipping which will arrive before 5:00 p.m.

In no way does upgraded shipping impact turnaround time or the production schedule for printing. Paying for overnight priority shipping has no effect on the printing/production schedule. If the product you are ordering says 2-4 business days, you'll need to add at least 1 business day to this schedule to include shipping.

In no case is GFX liable for loss of business or implied damages.
